Here you'll find the information on my Training Courses

Some of you will remember the Barbara Woodhouse way of training. Today the methods of training are much more humane with positive reinforcement based training methods now being used. This means rewarding the dog for good behaviour or doing something correctly. Your dog is far more likely to repeat an action if he thinks there is a reward at the end of it. The methods I use are based solely on this method of training. I do not allow choke chains in the classes and this is for a good reason. The muscles in the dog’s neck suffer and in some cases the spine can be damaged with repeated hard pulling on the choke collar. I personally prefer and promote the use of an ordinary collar and lead, however other controllers are available such as head collars. I do keep abreast of what is currently available for trainers and test them on other owner’s dogs or my own.

Training is very important, this gives the dog rules both inside and outside of the home, it creates a strong bond between owner and dog but more importantly the dog enjoys his life more knowing where the boundaries lie.
The classes offered are a Puppy Foundation Course an Obedience Course and Novice Agility. Please click on the relevant course for your dog to find out more.
I have a large fenced outdoor area for training. The classes are small, six dogs to a class. This gives individual attention to owners, should they need it. I am fully covered by Public Liability Insurance. For owners not wishing or unable to participate in a class, private tuition is available giving more flexibility to the owners’ requirements.
