"When we called on Eileen's services almost a year ago we had no idea what lay ahead. Unfortunately Mindy (B&T) passed in March after a seizure but not before Eileen had pulled out all the stops to succesfully find her a new home. Eileen was also with us through a barking problem and helped us resolve that too, she has been a rock through these challenging times and we couldn't have done it without her, many thanks Eileen... I own a St Bernard puppy and as you can imagine he is going to be very large. I sought advice from Eileen to prevent having problems later on. I found the consultation an enlightening way of understanding my dogs needs and it gave me the chance to observe how sensitive they are to body language. I also discovered that if I was not consistent I was only making more work for myself in the long run. Luna’s desire for attention could have become a real problem had I not taken the good advice given to me. My greatest tool is ignoring her and she responds very well to this when I have visitors as they all know that if they don’t ignore her, she will persist until she gets attention. Self discipline was the most difficult thing for me to do, but I can honestly say it has paid off.

We had a behaviour consultation in January 2008 after having problems with our Labrador sisters, Pepper and Gypsy, who jumped up and were disobedient. We were given direct instructions on what to do and it worked great. We found the program very successful and our dogs no longer jump on anyone and will come back when called. As we have very small children and elderly neighbours it’s a great relief. We found it hard to be consistent but it has certainly worked.

Casper
I had the fortune to be able to work with Eileen when she lived in England. Eileen came to my rescue as I had a 13 week old West highland White and he was a total nightmare!!! Amongst many things Eileen empowered me so much that on two occasions that my dog either escaped or slipped his lead.....I was able to control him enough to keep him out danger....Eileen helped me to save my dogs life! For this alone I couldn't say thank you enough. Nearly four years old now my little Casper is the joy of my life...he's a well behaved little man....with the odd occasion of mischief....I couldn't be happier with the results of training him from an early age....my parents who owned a very dominant Westie for 13 years can't believe how well behaved he is in comparison. Even my vet says that he's the best behaved Westie that he sees.....I'm very proud of him and the relationship we have....I can't imagine how life would be if it hadn't been for Eileen. Both Casper and I loved working with her...she really does understand dogs....and their owners.....just remember...Eileen really does know best!

From my experience with Eileen and the wonderful change in my dog I recommended her to the radio station I work for....in the six months that Eileen was with us...she had the most calls and the best feed back of any guest speaker I know of! She is deeply missed by staff and listeners alike! Ireland...you're very lucky to have her...take care of her!

We bought a dog from a local rescue centre, a West Highland terrier. We were told his previous owner could not cope with him as he was boisterous and disliked other dogs. After just 24hours in our home we had both been bitten by him and it became clear that Casper did not like being touched. He howled all night and the neighbours were complaining. Our vet recommended Eileen. We thought that Casper was a pushy dog; he was in fact a nervous dog and was treated accordingly. It’s a dog’s natural instinct to defend his home, however Casper now knows when to be quiet and we sleep peacefully at night.  After just a week we could walk Casper, he does not pull away when you stroke him, although he is still a little cautious if you touch his rear end. He is now starting to give affection. Whilst at first the advice you gave seemed strange, I cannot thank you enough, we have had success at every step of the way. We will never know what happened to Casper with his previous owner we can only surmise that he was beaten at some stage and eventually retaliated, this probably being the true reason for getting rid of him; however he is well on the way to being an ideal pet.

With thanks and appreciationLiz and Ray

The following was sent to a radio station where I was a guest speaker on behaviour and training.

I would just like to congratulate you for bringing Eileen Robinson to the listening public.

On visiting a rescue centre with a friend I fell in love with one of the inmates, I wasn’t actually looking for a dog. I was warned that she had one or two problems, this is an understatement, and she was the dog from hell. Our dog was manic, she was impossible to walk, stole anything, the remote control being the favourite. She ran around the house all the time, she barked constantly and we couldn’t even use the phone her behaviour was so bad. We had owned dogs before but we really didn’t know what to do with her or how to address her problems. We tried several trainers who excluded the dog as she was so disruptive in class with the barking, in fact we didn’t make any progress at all. After contacting several vets for help we found our saviour, Eileen.

Eileen provided us with incredibly valuable information and used training and behaviour methods that made sense and were understandable. She worked with the whole family re educating us all. We are delighted with the standard of service; her knowledge on dog behaviour and problems and training was quite astounding. I cannot praise her enough. She has the ability to instil confidence in people and if Eileen had not helped us I do not know where we would be today. Our dog is much calmer and we are beginning to enjoy having her in our home.  I just want to say thank you for all your time and effort, you are an inspiration to all dog owners and without doubt the best dog expert around. When you move, it will be a sad day for this area, may you have continued success in Ireland.

I was asked to visit the home of Frank and Claire who owned a St Bernard puppy. Already at just fourteen weeks old he was jumping up at the children and visitors. The family were worried he would cause harm.

We felt that the treatment program was successful. I felt very comfortable ringing you with incidents that happened, you explained to me what it means, what causes it and how to deal with the problem and more importantly avoid them in the future. As the dog got bigger and bigger we began to realise that we may have chosen the wrong dog for our family. He is such a lovable dog but really he was just too big and after discussions between ourselves and Eileen it was decided that it was  fairer to the dog to find him a new home. We found the most wonderful home, on a farm with other dogs, we still see him and he is really happy and well loved. We would like another dog and Eileen has suggested several breeds more suitable for us, this time we will research the breed. We are not ready to get another dog yet, however when we do, I now know where we went wrong. I learnt a lot from a behaviour consultation and I will apply all I have learnt to owning a smaller breed, oh and go to training classes at Eileen’s.

Lexie, a West Highland Terrier who was literally sitting in the vets waiting to be put to sleep after biting a two year old boy. Her owner thought this would be the best option, however the vet advised that Sue should seek my help and have a behaviour consultation as Lexie was only a year old.

On the vets recommendation I rang Eileen in a very distraught state as my dog had bitten my grandchild. I had no idea what to do with my dog or how to overcome her problem. Within days of Eileen’s visit I was far more confident and for the first time I was in control of my dog.  I would like to take this opportunity to tell anyone having problems with their dog, not to hesitate in getting a treatment programme from Eileen. Lexie would not be with me today without Eileen’s help and support. Thanks to Eileen’s patience I now have a dog that is sociable, obedient and no longer bites. I would highly recommend Eileen and cannot thank her enough for all she has done for me and my family; she is only a phone call away if ever I need her again
