What is a behaviour problem?
It is a situation or problem that the owner feels they cannot cope with. The range of
behavioural problems is extensive and can be anything from a
housetraining problem to severe aggression. Behavioural
problems are outside the scope of normal training and are
usually influenced by other varied internal and external factors. A qualified
dog behaviourist can recognise and correct these factors to
solve the original problem. Re homing or euthanasia should
not be necessary, in most cases the dog can be rehabilitated
through behaviour modification. The results of behaviour
modification is largely dependant on the owners putting the
necessary work in to change the dogs’ behaviour after a
consultation.
The consultation, usually last two hours, is conducted at the owners own
home where the influencing factors may lay. After an in depth
discussion a detailed treatment program is formulated and a
confirmation report is either sent by e-mail or post to the
client. I ask my clients to keep in touch weekly until the
owners feel they can go it alone.

singular or in combinations BUT a very high percentage is
curable.

Most of my behaviour consultations are
referrals by vets and satisfied clients, but in addition
I'm being asked to provide an e-mail service. After
successful trials by e-mail to English clients I now feel I can
offer this service for the more simple or straight forward
cases. Please contact me to
discuss if this option is relevant for you.
